CENTURY TREE was a commission from the Oakland Zoo to celebrate their 100th year of operation. They requested a tree base made from recycled items the zoo had collected over the years. It was installed on Earth Day and over the course of the day’s celebration, attendees added their personal environmental wishes for the next 100 years on leaves made from recycled vinyl signs. For fun, we added laser-cut zoo animals with a bark texture to the trunk of the tree.
